The surrounding area is a gardeners dream, since the climate is influenced by the gulf stream there are several renowned gardens nearby these include Castle Kennedy,
Ardwell, Glenwhan and possibly the best known Logan Gardens. Not to be missed also is Soleburn Garden
Centre three miles away.

Portpatrick is just a short
drive from the park, it is a very popular fishing village, centred around
the harbour with fishing boats and yachts tied up,

Portpatrick
also offers a
wide variety of restaurants, bars, cafes and souvenir shops, there
are some lovely walks along the cliff tops and around the
village.

Excellent Sea- Fishing can
be found not to far away from the park. Loch Ryan offers shelter
in most conditions, boat trips may be booked from Stranraer. The
sports shop in Stranraer has a good supply of bait and fishing
tackle for sea, game and coarse fishing. |

There is an excellent pony trekking stable 1 1/2 miles from the
park, which offers hourly rides around Lochnaw castle and
